Emily Mayzell

Nurse Practitioner

Emily Mayzell, CPNP

After purchasing her first pair of cowboy boots and learning all about H-E-B, Emily trekked a little further south from Memphis, Tennessee to complete her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at The University of Texas in Austin. Following graduation, she worked as a charge nurse in St. David’s Children’s Emergency Room. Soon after, she became reacquainted with UT campus parking, and completed her master’s as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) at her alma mater.

Emily has over 5 years of experience in pediatric emergency medicine. Though she has always wanted to follow in her older sister’s footsteps as a PNP, her work in the emergency room is what affirmed her eagerness to extend her role into advanced practice. Within those 5 years, she has also dabbled in both the St. David’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and the Respiratory Unit at Dell Children’s Medical Center. She currently serves on the board for the Austin chapter of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP).

Emily’s favorite part of being a PNP is getting to know the families she works with. Her background in the ER has influenced how she approaches patient care. She works hard to make sure her patients and their families feel heard, understood, and wholly supported. Emily’s highest priority is making you and your child feel safe and valued!

After a decade in Austin and, more importantly, after attending her first Texas rodeo, Emily feels she has officially been inducted into Texas society. She couldn’t be any more thrilled. If you ever bump into Emily outside of clinic, she will most likely be running the Town Lake trail, trying out a new restaurant downtown, or cooking her way through a new cookbook!
